Appointment scheduling
Our office sees patients by appointment only. Walk-ins are strongly discourage.
Patients are scheduled from 8:30 am to 11:15 am and again from 1:30 pm to 4:15 pm. The office is closed from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm for lunch. On Thursdays we schedule patients from 8:30 am to 11:15 am and close for the day at 12:00 noon.
Well child exams are on a specific schedule due to the time involved and are limited as to the number of exams we perform on any given day. If your child is sick, call as early in the day as possible to ensure a timely appointment. Because most of our patients are of school age, appointments are necessary during school hours. We will gladly give your child a note to return to school when this happens.
Please keep time; call us if you are running late! We take pride in seeing our patients without waiting time and your cooperation is needed.

Insurance policies/Provider status
It is to everyone's advantage that you know how your insurance plan works prior to obtaining services. While we are experienced in handling most scenarios, every plan is different and it is nearly impossible for us to know the specifics of your plan. Please contact your customer service department with any coverage questions.
This office is a participating provider for many insurance companies, including most major carriers. If you have a question regarding your particular plan, please contact your customer service department to find out if we are contracted with them. Ultimately, it is the patient's responsibility to ensure they are seeing a participating provider for their plan.

What to do if you need the doctor after hours
If you need the doctor outside of normal office hours, call the office telephone number and follow the directions for paging the doctor. Dr. Placheril will make every effort to return your call within 30 minutes. If you do not think you can wait 30 minutes for a return call, seek care at an emergency room or urgent care clinic. Medical emergencies should be called to 911 for assistance. Do not call the doctor outside of normal office hours if... - You want to make or cancel an appointment
- Medication refills
Remember, telephone calls are not a substitute for office visits and medical care since the doctor's judgment is limited without patient examination.

Prescription refills
Medication refills will not be honored unless office visits and/or lab work are up to date.
Please give 24 hours notice to refill medication.

ADHD medications
Refills for these medications require 24-48 hours notice as these medications cannot be called in and must be hand written. A parent or other authorized adult must pick up the prescription. Please do not send your child in to pick up these prescriptions. ADHD medications can only be written for a 30 day supply so it is necessary to get a new prescription every month. This is the law and there is no alternative! Our office policy is that we will not mail these prescriptions and they MUST be picked up from the office - NO EXCEPTIONS!
